He leaves to cherish his memory wife Dora; daughter Lynn (Wayne); brother Charles; son-in-law Richard, grandchildren, great grandchildren and special friend Rose-Marie. He was predeceased by his parents; brother Sid; daughter Sandra; grandson Jeffery. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.George served in the military first as a private in WWII and the Korean War. Then he enlisted in the Provost Corps, where he rose to the rank of Master Warrant Officer. George served two tours overseas in Egypt as a peace keeper. He retired from the armed forces after 25 years of dedicated service. He then went to work for the University of Manitoba, where he stayed until his health deteriorated.George and Dora built their home in East Selkirk where they resided until health reasons forced them to move. George loved and lived life to the fullest. Special thanks to all the home care girls, Cindi Fey, and the doctors and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital.A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. and Rev.
