He was talking about losing a job in 1974 and having emotional problems about it....“I locked my doors because I had had verbal confrontations with him in the past and I didn’t want that to happen again. I didn’t think anything about a gun. Oh heavens no, I didn’t think he would do anything like that.”Sadhana Bisarya, the owner of The Great Olathe Deli, said Gest was acting very “suspicious” when he entered the deli about 3 p.m.“He got a Snickers candy bar and a drink ... He was acting very suspicious. He kept walking around — back and forth — looking outside. As soon as his wife came out, he walked over and started shooting her. I said, ‘Oh my God, he’s shooting, he’sshooting!'... 1 called the police. ”
