Dean, refused to comment on the incident.Although Judge Russell said she never “dreamed” Gest was suicidal, she did lock the doors to her chambers and the courtroom shortly after Thursday’s hearing.“He was agitated when he came out of the courtoom,” Russell said minutes after the shootings. “He was very emoiional in court part of the time. He was talking about losing a job in 1974 and having emotional problems about it....“I locked my doors because I had had verbal confrontations with him in the past and I didn’t want that to happen again. I didn’t think anything about a gun. Oh heavens no, I didn’t think he would do anything like that.”Sadhana Bisarya, the owner of The Great Olathe Deli, said Gest was acting very “suspicious” when he entered the deli about 3 p.m.“He got a Snickers candy bar and a drink ... He was acting very suspicious. He kept walking around — back and forth — looking outside. As soon as his wife came out, he walked over and started shooting her. I said, ‘Oh my God, he’s shooting, he’sshooting!'... 1 called the police. ”
