HAROLD DVKE FIRE CAPTAINI* Harold Dyke, 38, today was appointed captain of the Burlington fire department, to succeed George IVlaekey who resigned to accept a position with the fire departmentat the Iowa ordnance plant. Duke,who is on duty at the central station, joined the fire departmentApril 16, 1927.The appointment was made bythe city council on recommendation of Harvey C. Jaeger, superintendent of the department of public safety.The council adopted an ordi- j nance today creating the post of lieutenant in the fire department, j end a fire lieutenant probably willbe appointed next week, it was announced.
