At New Chester on Wednesday Mr. and Mrs.Isaac Pottorff celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a large number of children, grandchildren and friends.The affair was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pottorff where a bounteous dinner was served.After the dinner a number of the grandchildren gave specially prepared speeches while tho two ministers present, Rev. W. A. Korn and Rev. E. E. Dietterich made addresses. Mr. and Mrs. Pottorff received a number of gold coins and other useful gifts.On January 5, 1855 Miss Mary Swope and Isaac Pottorff, both of New Chester, were united in marriage. They have lived at New Chester ever since. Mr. Pottorff has been an active atone mason and contractor all of his life, lie has built many of the bridges in Adams County for the Commissioners and was the contractor for unumber of New Oxford's handsome residences. He was TO years old onding anniversry.In addition to Mr.and Mrs. Pottorff, llev. and Mrs, W. A. Korn and Rev. and Mrs. E. E. Dietterich and son, Archie, the following were present:Children: Mrs. Ella Brown. Mrs. Edward Etzler, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zinn, Miss Carrie Pottorff, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Pottorff, Mr. and Mrs. William Gulden. Mr. and Mrs. Marks Bream, Mr. and Mrs. Goorge Raffens-perger, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pottorff.Grandchildren: Misses Ethel Pottorff, Minerva Gulden, Mary Zinn, Zula Pottorff, Esther Pottorff, Dolly Gulden, Myrna Raffensperger, Eva Mao Raffensperger, Masters Robert Bream, George Bream, Chester Gulden, Arthur Gulden, and Donald Raffeus-perger.Sisters: Mrs. Maggie Sheely, Mrs. Samuel Heck, Mr. and Mrs. John Basehoar.Friends: George Sheely, Mrs. J. C. Leivelsperger, Jacob Winuml, John Winand.
