Kaus LaneAn employee called 911, while Rhonda Lewis, deputy director of the Alton Park and Recreation Department, and Jim Hernandez, public works director, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Greer until paramedics from the Alton Fire Department and Alton Memorial Ambulance Service arrived to treat him.Ambulance paramedics continued treatment as they took Greer to Alton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:14 a.m.Madison County Coroner Steve Nonn said an autopsy was planned today because of Greer’s age and because he was stricken at the workplace.
