FAIR VIEW |FAIRVIEW, Jan. 4. — LAC Harry Klapstein, R.C.A.F. from Claresholm, spent New Year's holiday with his wife and family in Fairview.Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bailey, oldtimers in the Peace River country, and farmers in the Red Star district, have disposed of their stock and implements including household articles and are leaving this week for Edmonton, where they will in future reside. Both Mr, and Mrs. Bailey have been prominent in U.F.A. circles, Mr. Bailey at one time representing the Peace River constituency in the provincial legislature and besides always took an active part in everything pertaining to the good and welfare of the community. They will be greatly missed. However, our loss will be somebody else's gain and we wish them the best of luck i their new place of residence.Rev. Mr, and Mrs. Mercer left by car last week for Vancouver to which point Rev. Mr. Mercer has been transferred by the Nazerene church.Capt. Dr. Wilkinson, C.A.D.C., Edmonton, accompanied by his wife and family, who have been spending the Christmas holiday guests of Cpl. and Mrs. Walker, Fairview, returned to Edmonton by car Sunday.The old year passed out and the new year came in quietly. All places of business closed at 8.30 in order to give staffs a chance to attend the show. The main attraction of the evening was the New Year’s danqe in the Gem theatre, sponsored by the local Elks Lodge. And as in the past years this dance drew crowds from far and near, both young and old, to dance out the old year and dance in the new year. Everyone had a most enjoyable time until the early hours of the morning.
