L. Lighter, well-known residents of Middletown, celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding on Sunday, December 29. The ceremony occurred at the home of the bride's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. j Daniel Satxner. South of Middletown. | The Ibride was Miss Jennie Sarmer and j the groom was a son of the late Mr. j and. Mrs. Charles Lighter, j The anniversary celebration was a j very interesting occasion. Shortly be-j fore 1 o'clock the children and grand-i children of Mr. and Mrs. Lighter serv-} ed a golden wedding dinner” in the | lodge room of Memorial Hah. Mid-i cletown. The tables were attractively j decorated with yellow roses and in {the center was a large wedding cake, j covered with golden frosting. On the ! top layer stood a miniature bride | and groom. All stood by the tables | ana joined in singing, “Praise God j From Whom All Blessings Flow.” j Rev. L. Ralph Tabor, of the Luth-j eran church, pastor of Mrs. Lighter,| offered a brief prayer of ibanfcsgiv-j ing. During the dinner, Rev. John j S. Adam, of the Evangelical and Re-j formed church, pastor of Mr. Lighter.: j addressed the group. He reviewed: | the story of 50 years of wedded life j | and commented upon the great values i | of the home as a needed institution! | in the modern world. II The celebration concluded with an; j informal “family reunion.” R. S.; j Brown of Easton. Talbot county, a j • son-in-law, sang several famiisar I hymns. Mr. and Mrs. Lighter spent jthe remainder of their anniversaryday at home, where they received the i congratulations of many friends.
