While in no wa\ disparaging the splendid generosity of Andrew Carnegie in the matter of library giving, Massillon and Canton can take a good deal of satisfaction in the knowledge that their collections of books, as well as the buildings which shelter them and the funds for their maintenance, have been and areprovided by residents of the respective cities. Canton is much to be congratulated upon the handsome gift which its library has just received, and which will render possible many improvements in that institution.
