75 Allend Golden Wedding ObservanceSeventy-five friends and relatives called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Moore, 500 Cedar street. New Year’s day to help celebrate the couple's golden wedding anniversary.The couple received many flowers and cards, and two cakes, decorated with bride and groom, were { resented to them by their nieces, Mrs, Hugo Westphalen and Mrs. Carlos Phares. Phone calls and telegrams were received from relatives and friends who were unable to be present.Mr. and Mrs. Moore were given a big surprise about 7 p. m. when their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Moore, arrived by automobile from Dayton, O. Their daughter, Mrs. A1 Sutherland, of Madison, Wis., was unable to come because of illness.Other out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Roberts of Bray-ton, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie M. Moore and Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Campbell of Council Bluffs. A telegram of congratulations was received from Mrs. Vera Martin of Los Angeles, Cal., former Atlantic resident.Hostesses for the “open house” were Mrs. L. R. Nelson, Mrs. Carl Phares, Mrs. Hugo Westphalen, Mrs. M. A. Preston, Mrs. Barney Jave, Mrs. C. C. Crutchfield and Mrs. Frank Gaines.Blue and gold bells with name and date of the wedding were pinned on each guest by Miss Grace Allen. Mrs. Moore, who wore a blue dress when she was married, also was attired in a blue dress, with gold trimmings, yesterday.
