Colored People Celebrate the Emancipation.Proclamation Was Issned on Jan 1,34 Years Ap.Parade in Boston and a Faneuil Hall Meeting.Principal Demonstration WasHeld in Ayer.Address Made by W. H. Lewis on “Retributive Justice.”The 84th anniversary of the signing j of the emancipation proclamation by Pres Lincoln was observed by the colored people all over the country yesterday with parades, addresses and receptions.In Massachusetts meetings were held in Ayer, Boston, Chelsea, Haverhill, Lawrence, New Bedford, Worcester andBp ringfleld.In Boston there was a military andcivic demonstration through the streetsunder the auspices of the Robert Gould Shaw veteran association., The parade was formed at 1 ctfclockon North* Russell st. The Robert G. Shaw veteran association, MaJ J. Wesley Furlong, headed by a band, marched over the following route: Cambridge to Irving, Phillips, West Cedar, Chestnut, Charles, Beacon, School. Washington, Milk, Brpad, State, Commercial, South Market to Faneuil hall, where a halt was made and addresses made by Judge Cowley of Lowell, Robert F. Teamoh, Maj Wesley Furlong, Rev J. Allan Kirk, Rev Peter Thomas Stanford and Burrill Smith.
