LOWRYPEMBROKE — More than •130 family members and friends gathered at Pembroke Senior High School to celebrate tihe50Uli wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas HiHiardOxendine of Pembroke on the evening of Feb. 19.Mrs. Oxendine, the former Miss Georgia Rae Maynor, looked lovely in her gold double-knit floor-lengtih gown, a cor* sage of gold mums tied with green satin ribbon at her shoulder. Mrs. Oxendine’s dress was customed sewn by her. daughter, Mrs. Charles Griffith.Mr. Oxendine’s entire outfitwas a gilt from their eight children.The one attendant that witnessed the 1922 ceremony is still living as a next door neighbor, Hassell W. Oxendine, who is a ooaein. Also, the person vrtio provided transportation to Ben-oettsville, S. C., place of marriage, Gaston Lodclear, residesin the Prospect Community Dear Maxton. Mrs. Oxendine is the fourth member of her fami* Iy U enjoy 50 years o f matrimony. The other threewere their children, who are: I Thomas Oxendine, director of, Office of Communication, Bureau of Indian Affairs,: Washington, D. C. Thomas and j his wife, the former Elizabeth} Moody, and tiheir three sons)reside in Arlington, Va. IRobert E. Oxerdine, a truckdriver with MdLean Motors, Spartanburg. S. C. Robert and his wife, the former Lois i Stewart, and their two daughters and one son reside in WeJJJord, S. C.Louis S. Oxendine. partsdistributor for Chrysler Motors,Detroit, Mich. Louis and his wife, tihe former Mildred' Sweezy, and their three daughters reside in Warren,!Mich. !Joseph B. Oxendine. professor ■at Temple University,1Philadelphia, Pa. Joseph and,his wife, the former AdrienneMcNaughton. and their son arddaughter reside in Abington,Pa. IEarl H. Oxendine. principal at i South Hoke Elementary School, | Raeford. Earl and his wife, the : former Betty Raye Hammond.and their four daughters andone son live in Pembroke.
