I1SIXTY-FIRST WtiDMXft ANNIVERSARY OBSERVEDM»*. and Mrs. I. N. Pulliam, well known Chariton residents, celebrated the sixty-first. anniversary of their marriage on Tuesday, Feb. 27. On account of the ill health of Mrs. Pulliam no formal observance was made of the event, hut they i J wore the honored guests at. a dinner!;given in the evening by their!*granddaughter, Mrs. Chester Tuttle and liusbaiul at their home. Two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Pulliam, Mrs. H. I,. Sigler and Mrs. O. J. Clark and families, were* also present, and the evening was spent: in an enjoyable social manner.I. N. Pulliam and Mary Worley wore united in marriage at. the home of her mother, Mrs Jesse Worley, near Newborn, on February 27, 1879. For two years they lived at ; the homestead near Newborn, then located in Marion county where they resided two years. They then moved back to Lucas county and livd on a farm in Whltbreast township until November, 1928, whenthey came to Chariton and this place has since been their home.Six children have been horn to them, one of whom, a son, Jesse, died in infancy, and another son, Lawrence, passed away on Dec. 20, 1938. Those living are Lucius Pulliam, of Wallace. Nebr. | Mrs. Leona May Sigler, of Warren township: Mrs. 0. J. Clark, of Chariton; and Mrs. Lucy Larrington, of Gettysburg, South Dakota. They have 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.During their long residence in tiiis vicinity Mr. and Mrs. Pulliam 1 have won a host of warm friends who trust that they may be spared to enjoy many more years of happy wedded life.
