Mr. I v Colson is a well known citizen and one I11 of the pioneers of the sta;e and county, h of which he is a native, and where lie ri was successfully engaged in farming for u many years : but at the ‘-all ol his conn- i-try be left farm ami family to fight her battles in the late Civil war. Since his 11 return he took up farm life again, 'til he D retired from active work to enjoy the 0 comfcrt and rest earned by industry and I G perseverance, aided by the pension E which our beloved country, contrary to the proverbial ingratitude of republics, delights to award to those who have served her faithfully in her hour of vv need. U'His children rejoice in his hale and Ml' hearty old age, and upon this occasion ol gave expression to tlieir sentiments in ( f true Thanksgiving style by feasting {ti gladly cure more together, at the parental table.
