Jacobs, 65. of rGodfrey, died at 2:34 a m today, Feb. 27, 1986, at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Alton after being ill since January. tBorn in Fayville, a son of the late Grant and Ora lt;Rudd» Jacobs, he married the former Georgia May Petropoulos on June 5, 1937. in .Alton. She survives. iA World War II Navy veteran, he ,was employed as a welder/truck driver for the National Marine Service in Grafton, retiring Sept. 8, 1983, after 10 years of service.In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Dreith and Joan Chester, both of Bethalto, five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers. Richard Jacobs of Alton and Otis Jacobs of Missouri; and three sisters. Edith Honey of Jerseyville, and Christina Ketterer and Lucille Callahan, both of Alton.There will be no visitation or services.
