Monday, Feb. 15,1830.The memorial from the Creek Indians, whichwas presented on Monday last, and the refer* ence of which whs postponed to this day, was referred to the Committee on Indian Affairs.Mr GO0DENOWpresented the memorial of the L idiesof Steubenville, Ohio.acainst the removal of the Southern Indians, and moved to refer it to the Committee on Indian Affairs, and that it be printed.Mr. THOMPSON hoped it would be laidon ihe table for one day.Mr. DORSEY called for the reading.Mr. THOMPSON said it was with extreme regret that he seemed to attach so much importance to memorials of this nature; but he wished to have it laid upon the table for one day.The CHAIR said that it wts competent for the member from M tryland to call for the roa-dine of any paper.Mr. THOMPSON said he objected to thereading.The CHAIR decided that the objection could not prevent the reading, under the rules of the Honse.The memorial was then read.Mr. THOMPSON called for the readingof the names of the Ladies attached to the memorial, which were-road accordingly.The printing was then ordered^—Ayes 86, Noes 72.The SPEAKER Dresented the memorial of the Chiefs of the Cherokee noatiou; which was latd on the tahle.
