R. Douglas Campbells Honored February 14th On 40th AnniversaryFriends and relatives surprised Mr. and Mrs. R. Douglas Campbell of Wellsboro with a party celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary at the couple’s home on Brydeh Street, Saturday, February 14.The red and white decorations, including a two-tiered wedding cake, combined the symbols of Valentine’s Day with the traditional ruby color characteristic of the marking of forty years of marriage.The couple was married February 15,1941, at the Baptist parsonage by the now deceased Rev. Charles Sheriff, then pastor of the Wellsboro First Baptist Church.They have nine grandchildren and five children: the Rev. Dr. Douglas Campbell. Mrs. Sandra Losinger, Mrs. Connie Christley and Miss Susan Campbell, all of Wellsboro; Mrs. Bettie Lou Wilson of Mumford, New York and Mr. William Campbell . of Lantana. Florida.Mr. Campbell is retired from the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and Mrs. Campbell is a first grade teacher at the Charlotte Lappla Elementary School.The following persons from out of state attended the party: Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lyman of Friendship, New York; Mrs. Gladys Lyman, Richburg, New York; and Mr. and Mrs. Alleyne Campbell and daughters Patty and Barbara, all of Willingsboro. New Jersey,
