Morrill of 49 Caughey street, Waltham, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 22nd.The anniversary party was held at the home of their son Supt. of Schools Radcliffe Morrill, 83 Thoreau street. Presentwere Mrs. Vira (Morrill) Carter, sister of Mr. Morrill, and Sidney Radcliffe, brother of Mrs. Morrill. Their daughter, Mrs. Elinor (Morrill) Hayden of Lakewood, Rhode Island, was present at the celebration. Five grandchildren, Menditb Ann Hayden, Harrison Hayden, Patricia Morrill, Anne Morrill, and«Deborah-An Morrill were also present.Following the anniversary dinner the couple were surprised by.a series of telephone calls tothree brothers and sisters whom-they have not seen for many 1 years. Mrs. Morrill talked vsftth her sister, Miss Annie M. Radcliffe of LaMesa, California. Another sister, Miss'Charlotte Radcliffe of London, England, was unable to answer the London call. Mr. Morrill conversed with his sister, Mrs. Nellie Dow of Bloomington, California, and his brother, Frank Morrill of Chicago, Illinois. With the cooperation of the telephone company, extension phones had been installed to permit all brothers and sisters to participate in the long distance calls.Mrs. Morrill is the former Helena Radcliffe. For more than 25 years Mr. and Mrs. Morrill made their home $t 54 Renwick road, Melrose Highlands, where many of their friends still reside.
