SGT. SONHIK WEDPretty Wedding Solemnized Thursday in ChambersburgMiss Mary Elvira Conner, daughter of Mrs. J. Morris Guider, The Terrace, this city, and George W. Sonnik, Jr., sergeant of the U. S. Army Air Forces, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Sonnik, Chambersburg, Pa., were quietly married at 5:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon in the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. The couple exchanged marriage vows against a background of white roses and lighted tapers in candelbras with the Rev. Fr. T. B. Johnson officiating. Music was provided by the Boys’ Choir of the church.A corsage of white camellias was worn by the bride on her cocoa brown wool suit with a matching veiled straw hat.Her matron of honor, Mrs. Joseph Crist, of Chambersburg, was attired in a black and white check suit with black accessories and a corsage of talisman roses. Mr. Crist was best man.Sergeant and Mrs. Sonnik are both graduates of the Chambersburg High School and Mrs. Sonnik is employed by Pangborn Corporation. Immediately after the ceremony the couple left for New York City to spend a week after which Sergeant Sonnik will report to Middletown, Pa., where he is stationed.A number of local people attended the wedding.
