Soon after dark, however, she complained j of feeling ill and laid down. As she grew worse Dr. Briggs was called in, who .found her very ill, and Dr. Hinkle was also summoned. Nothing that the physicians could do gave relief, and about 7 o’clock Sunday morning shedied.Maggie was a very quiet girl and extremely sensitive. She was highly respected and bore an excellent reputation among bar acquaintances. Her sudden and untimely death was a severe blow to her sister, Mrs. Dutton, and her brother, Will Maloney, who lives at Philo, Ills., and|came here to attend her funeral on Tuesday,Death so cold, unknown but sure,Plucks the flower of every shrine,And when least expected the loved and pureWith wings of snowy tinge the golden stairs of eternity will climb. How sad to look upon an empty space And think of the dearest and most beloved face Realizing that no more the voice and words we’l hear Of Maggie, whom to us was most dear.So when on earth our days complete And in death we meet our common fateMay the Angels hasten down the golden street To greet you all at the pearly gate.El1C
