WeltyThe children of Lloyd E. and Phyllis M. Welty are very proud to announce their parent’s 60th wedding anniversary, Feb. 12, 2009.Lloyd, born in Oklahoma, arrived in Fairbanks in May 1947 as a mechanic for the 375th Reconnaissance Squadron at Ladd Field. Phyllis, born in Los Angeles, arrived in Ketchikan in 1943, and moved to Fairbanks in 1948.Lloyd and Phyllis met in the fall of 1948 while both were working at Gulls Plumbing Appliances in Fairbanks.Their love bloomed, and they were married Feb. 12, 1949, at 8 p.m. at the Seventh Avenue home of Phyllis’ father, George J. Fader.Lloyd and Phyllis have Five children: Vivian, Naomi, Valeria,Janet and Dale, all raised in the house where their parents still reside. In addition to their children, they have four extendedchildren, Michael, Terry, Gary and Karla; and six grandchildren, Stephanie, Brent, Mark, Amy, Nicholas and Natalie.Lloyd and Phyllis are both retired from civil service and are enjoying their days of leisure with their very loved Pomeranian, Mookie.f riends of Lloyd and Phyllis are invited to take part in their celebration ol faith, love and happiness by calling and wishing them a “Happy 60th Anniversary. ”There will be a celebration picnic in their honor in the summer.
