CELEBRATED 70TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY SATURDAY P. M*.Forty Friends Assist Mrs, Win. Thor-man to Celebrate SeventiethMilestone.Sunday, February 18 marked the seventieth milestone in the life ofMrs. Wm, Thorman and forty of herfriends concluded to pleasantly assist I her to remember the day. In fact they got a tritle ahead of time and called on her en masse Saturday afternoon. They painted this particular milepost m such glowing colors that she will look back at it with special pleasure . along life’s journey. The gladsome rays of the occasion will gladden her heart and cheer her. Not only did they call and make the occasion a gladsome one but they brought her a gift that will be a delightful souvenir of the happy hours passed in this most hospitable home. They brought with them edibles that in quantity and quality vied with each other, but were about evenly matched , and reflected credit on all. jMr. and Mrs. Thorman were much* surprised but made the company welcome. Nothing that they could do was left undone to show their appreciation of the thoughtfullness of the friends who had called. They assisted in the spread of edibles by dishing up oranges in plenty that had been sent to them by their son in California. It was surely good to be there and was a sample of the old time hospitality that made Iowa one of the best in the galaxy of states, with best people to be found anywhere.
