Lions Wallop TSU, 93-69By Jeke SandlinBehind the point-producing efforts of Nate Granger and O'Neal Tarrant, ET's Lions rode to a 93-69 walloping of Tarleton State In a Lone Star Conference contest Monday night In the Field House.Granger. 6-5 freshman out of Newark. N.J.. scored a career high 31 points In the win, with the ropho-Southwest Texas leaped into the Lone Star Conference No.l slot Monday night, with a 7063 victory over displaced leader Howard Payne In San Marios.SWT stepped a half-game ahead of HP with the win. The Bobcats had defeated Abilene Christian College. N-80. in San Marcos Saturday night to put its foot in the title door, Hoegie Sammons and his gang from AI helped SWT get that first place spot by shocking HP. 9693 in overtime at Kingsville Saturday. Simmons pumped in 51 points in the win. one shy of his record sot against ET earlier this month.A41 won its seventh consecutive game Monday with a 107-93 decision over ACC in Kingsville. In other games Monday. Sam Houston beat Sul Ross. 80-70. in Huntsville; Stephen F. The subs reached the 30-point margin three more times before the Texans could trim the final margin.Freshman Pat Laue scored 14 points for the Lions, and Carera added 10. Granger was the top re-boureler for the game with 12.
