AAJ V W4 kJU* jr 4. A UM*Mr. and Mrs. Herman Smits and family and Mr.. and Mrs. N, J. Veneman spent Sunday at the Ward Veneman home at Newton, They also met Mr. and Mrs. N, J. Vene-man's daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clughenour of Maxwell, and other relatives. The occasion was to celebrate Ward Veneman’s and Mrs. N. J. Veneman’s birthdays. There were 16 present. Ward is N. J, Veneman’s youngest brother.Mr. and Mrs. Leo Reinhart went to Estherville Saturday and spent until Sunday at the home of their son, Bernard Reinhart, and family. Their grandson, Michael, accompanied them home Sunday. Mrs. Harry Griffee accompanied the Reinharts and visited her sister, Mrs. Lena Perkins at Rodman.Mrs. Harriett Smits entertained a company of women at a 1 o'clock dinner as a surprise in honor of her mother’s birthday on the following day. Mrs. Veneman received many gifts. A birthday cake centered the table. Those present were Mrs. V. G, Deardorff, Mrs. J. W. Presnell, Mrs. A. A. Crose, Mrs. Blanche Moss, Mrs. Lena Brown, Mrs. Mable Hatch and Mrs. Ethel Kline. Mrs. Moss' birthday was the same day.
