Restaurant, store damaged by fire in MedinaMEDINA A fire Saturday night gutted an upstairs room at 588 W. Liberty St. and caused damage to the Medina Steak House and Edwards Grocery below.Fire Chief Thurston Harry said the fire started as a result of cigarette ashes burning in a chair. He estimated damages at $15,000.Barry said the fire was confined to the one room but part of the ceiling of the Steak House fell in due to water damage and the grocery store suffered some smoke damage.Dorsey Daniels, 84, was in the room where the fire began and was admitted to Medina Community Hospital for smoke inhalation. He is listed in fair condition.
