Mr. and Mrs, Roy MankeMankes celebrate golden anniversaryMr. and Mrs. Roy Manke, 2110 Saratoga St., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday.The couple and their family attended services at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. A dinner was served at 12:30 p.m. for relatives, followed by an open house in the afternoon in Kuecble Hall. A blessing was given by the Rev. Robert Buck-man and the Rev. Paul Bierlein played guitar selections at the celebration. Entertainmentincluded a mock wedding.Manke was bom on Jan. 30, 1901 in Kellner, the son of Mr.and Mrs. Frank Manke. His wife, the former Ruth Getzlaff, was bom on Nov. 4, 1905 In Wisconsin Rapids to Mr. and Mrs. Henry’ Getzlaff.They were married on Feb. 18, 1925 and have lived in Wisconsin Rapids since thee. Manke retired from the Biron Division of Consolidated Papers, Inc. in 1966, where he had been employed for 44 years.The couple has two sons, Norman of 3111 Deer Road, and James of South Park Road. They also have seven grandchildren.
