Farrens' Near 50thWedding AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. Patrick Farrens, 120 6 Prarie St. will quietly observe their golden wedding anniversary Friday. No formal observance will be held but a family d.nner will beaerved at their home.Mrs. Farrens is the former Miss Opal Schroyer, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schroyer. She was born Aug. 8, 18SO, at Burlington Jet. Mr. Farrens was born Jan. 18. 1887, at Clearmont, the son of late Mr. and M^s. Perry Farrens.They were married Feb. 22, 1£K7, at the courthouse by the late Judge Warren L. Johnson. They have lived in Nodaway county all but three years of their marriage. Those years were spent In Wisconsin.Mr. and Mrs. Farrens are in fair health most of the time. Mr. Farrens now farms only 120 acres four miles east of Maryville. Until about ten years ago he farmed more than 300 acres. He farms with horses and Is especially fond of horses.Mrs. Farrens collects vases as a hobby. The hobby was started during the first World War when one of her aunts sent her a vase from Japan. The aunt was traveling in Japan at that time. S.nee then she ■ has collected more than 600 vases.The Farrens have a son, Dale C. Farrens, Maryville. A daughter, Mrs. Helen Childress, died several years ago.
