*Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Koltes observed their fifty-third wedding anniversary on Friday, Feb. 11th.The following relatives were entertained on Sunday at the home of theirdaughter, Mrs. M. F. Kennedy at Madison, in honor of the occasion: Mr.and Mrs. Edward Koltes, Middleton,Mrs. Charles Shillinglaw and children,Westport; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Koltesand children and Mr. and Mrs. R. P.Koltes, Waunakee.Mr. and Mrs. Koltes were united inmarriage at St. Mary of the Lake church at Westport by the Rev.w tthe time of the organization of thevillage and helped draft the constitution and by-laws. He served as supervisor and trustee for seventeen yearsand was village president for twoyears.He was first associated in the lumber business with his father, MichaelKoltes, then with P. R. Riphahn andnow with his sons, Ray P. and HarryJ. Koltes.Mr. and Mrs. Koltes have bothpassed the 75th milestone and are enjoying good health. We believe theyMathew Gerend. Mrs. Koltes beforeher marriage was Miss JosephineMary Tierney, daughter of the lateMr. and Mrs. John Tierney of Westport. Mr. Koltes is the son of the lateMr. and Mrs. Michael Koltes.Mr. Koltes was one of the petionershave fully realized the joys and happiness which in the golden days of4routh were promised. They have hadtheir sorrows and shadows, but theirmarried life has been pleasant, asthey find themselves in the evening oflife, contented, honored by their child-for the incorporation of the village ofWaunakee and was elected trustee atren, grandchildren, neighbors andfriends. They have the best wishes ofthe entire community.
