Dolph Briscoe. Mrs. Briscoe Is also expected to attend the four-day celebration which got under way Thursday.MEXICAN OFFICIALS Among officials attendingguez Sanchez and long-time Laredo Mayor J.C. Pepe” Martin Jr.The ceremonies at the borderline are highlighted by welcoming speeches and followed by traditional abrazDs’V between dignitaries of bo th . countries. American hosts then escort their Mexican counterparts to. a grandstand for a view of the parade.First official welcoming of the many visiting dignitaries and honor guests took place at 6 p.m. Friday at a cocktail buffet at Laredo's civic center hosted by Uve Caballeros de la Republics del Rio Grande.The cocktail Js followed by the glittering Colonial'Pageant at the civic center auditorium at 8 p.m. The pageant and the Colonial Ball which follows,Laredo9sFiestaare sponsored by tfae Society of Martha Washington, Mrs. Joe Mason Miller JS this year’s society president. PAGEANT HIGHLIGHTA highlight of the pageant, in addition to the presentation of 1973 debutantes, Is the introduction of George and Mar-t h a Washington. Portraying Washington this year is Laredo businessman Max Man-del. Mrs. G.E.
