After learning the butcher trade under the late . Desire Jacquelin. he went into his own business. He iater .owned and operated the Arctic Ice Co.. first maim- J factory of artificial ice in this section. of the valley, and after deposing- of this opened the Moody Real Estate office here. This he sold to what is now the Collins Realty Co. and then assumed control of the Val-ley-Crystal-Ice Co. at North Charleroi. Upon disposal of his interests there he purchased the Majestic Theatre, changed the name to Menlo, which is at present under lease to Leo Reich-blum. For the past six years he has operated, with a partner, W. C. Dickinson, the Plaza. Strand and Bison theatres at Brownsville.-On November 31, 1208 in Charleroi he was united in marriage to Margaret Jacqusiin. who survives together with his mother-in-law Mrs. Jennie Jacquelln. two sisters-in-law. Mrs. J.M- Trenton of Charleroi. Mrs. E. S-McCormiek of Oakland, three nieces Miss Margaret A, Trenton and Mrs.L- Lioyd Baker of Charleroi, Mrs. J.M. Scholl Lewis of Hollywood. Cal., and a nephew Emmett McCormick,Jr~. of Oakmont.George Moody was a member of the Presbyterian church of Charleroi and former trustee of the prior Washing-J ton Avenue Presbyterian church. His only fraternal association was as 'member of Charleroi Lodge No. 1030, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a former member of Charleroi | borough council and had just recent-j ly concluded a term as Charleroi | borough assessor. A keen commer-S cil analyst he was Identified with j the most successful business men and j real estate owners in the valley, ma-j luring in *ds enterprises as Charleroi grew and prospered. He pursued a course of sound judgment and business logic in his diverse fields but was at first a home man, thoroughly ijuhuofi with the responsibilities of h^me and its kindred companionships.The measure of his character was In [ the full appreciation of his home, his loved ones ami a ^een perception of good gracious living.
