CHRISTIAN WHIS-LKR MARRIED lt;K) YEARS.'I Children. lt;ira n del Li! lt;lroii and GreatGrandchildren \sKt Couple i»Ot^rning Event. *A celebration of real proixirtions is being held today at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Whisler, 1317 j East Fifth street, where that vener-| able couple are observing the 60thanniversary of their wedding day. Just sixty years ago today they werei married at Harrisburg, Pa., and, shortly after, they moved to Ohio and from that state to Lisbon. Iowa.Mr. and Mrs. Whisler first came toMuscatine in the ’50* but later moved away. They returned to this city about 1890 and have since madetheir l*ome here.At noon today a dinner was servedat which practically all the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were present, making a large total. There are eight children living, who are: William,Josephine, Mrs. Elizabeth Kemp,Christopher and Jacob E., of this city, and Abraham, of Plymouth. 111.; Mrs. Katie Wilraering, of Columbus Junction, and C. B. Whisler, of Cedar Rapids. There are about 29grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The celebration will becontinued this evening, a r up per being served and elaborate plans hav-j ing been made for a social evening.
