and family, Mr, John Yenter and daughter, Alice, of Oxford, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Brown and family of Tiffin, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Smith and family of Nichols, Miss Hazel Jones, Miss Margaret Meyn.There were 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren present.Mr. and Mrs. Yenter have lived in Johnson county all their lives. They were married February 13, 1884 and moevd to what is known as the Milton Remley farm, south of Oxford. Later they moved to another farm nearby, which they purchased. In the fall of 1919 they moved to Oxford.Mrs. Yenter was formerly Rosie Bell, born July 17, 1865 near Oxford. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Bell,Mr. Yenter was bom on a farm south of Oxford,, August 12, 1860. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Yenter.The name of Yenter has been a familiar one in Johnson county for nearly a century. Jacob Yenier was one of the early settlers of Johnson county. He was born in Wertem-berg, Germany and came to America in 1833, During the War with Mexico he served 18 months and came toJohnson county in 1849 and settled■on his land warrant. He was married July 7, 1857 to Margaret Johnson. In 1864 they went to Virginia City, Nevada, where they lived until Mr. Yenter’s death August 14, 1872. Mrs. Yenter lived there four years then returned to Johnson county. She passed away some years ago.
