Spring Festival Needs More FlowersiAll Residents Urged to Plant for City-Wide Event Which Will Be Held April 27-28 at ParkAn outdoor spring flower snow —a two-day festival in which the whole community will be asked to join--will be sponsored by the Garden section of the Woman’s Improvement club, with tentative dates set for April 27 and 28. This show will be held at the city park in the space adjoining the arbor where the tables are located. Mrs. C. W. Wilson, general chairman for the affair, will spare no effort in making this event very attractive and worthwhile. The City Beautificationcommittee has already promised' %its support and active co-operation, Chairman Mrs. George Sni-decor being most enthusiastic in support of the projoct.Mrs. J. W. Stimson, chairman for the school projects along City Beautification lines, has already planned to co-ordinate her work with the flower show and this fact alone augurs well for Its ’success. With Hie co-dpefatton of the teachers and school children the festival- is sure to be an attractive affair of community interest.The committee urges all citizens in Corona to begin at once on their gardening. Flowers and more flowers will be needed. If allgarden minded people help a little, the show will be grand. Right now is tlie time to get the small plants and seeds in. If everyone gets to work at once, it also means that the home surroundings in Corona are going to take on a new dress. It means that many gardens are going to be entered in the fifth annual garden contest. It means that Corona is going to take a fresh interest in the appearance of the city.With all the agencies for civic betterment c o o p e r at i n g, the schools, the Beautification committee, the Chamber of Commtfrtfe, the city council through its Parkdepartment, the Garden section♦which has sponsored so manyflower shows for Corona, and most of all, the citizens of Corona, the spring flower festival will do something fine for the city whichenfiot be estimated in dollarsand cents. if the whole com-4mtuiity, will work together in improving the surroundings of its homes and growing flowers, the inspiring results gained therefrom will be well worth the effort.As the plans develop for the festival, they will be given all possible publicity through The Independent and the schools.
