BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES PROMINENT IDAHO.WOMENIn the 1928 edition of “Women of the West”, a series of biographi cal sketches of living eminent women of the eleven western states of the United States, compiled and edited by Max Binheim, appeared many names ‘of prominent Ida-Jioans. Among the outstanding Idaho women are Mrs. D. W. Standrod and Dr. Minnie F. Howard of Pocatello; the latter writes an article which also appears; Bertha R. Hayes, Pocatello; Lillian Spongberg, Pocatello; Ruth Bernice Mead, Pocatello; Susan H. Bietham, Blackfoot; Lee Crittenden Brady, Blackfoot; Edna Gillespie, Blackfoot; Dorothy Agee Rich, Lava Hot Springs. Irene Welch Grissom, poet laureate of Idaho, also writes an article and a poem, “A Pioneer Woman”. A third article appears written by Alma E. Plumb, educator and writer.In her article Dr. Howard tells of Idaho’s interest in a Fort Hall monument and the Oregon Trail She is founder of the Fort Hall Monument association, and is director of Idaho for the Oregon Trail Memorial association. Mfs. Grissom tells of the pioneer woman of Idaho. She is the author of “A Daughter of the Northwest” and a number of poems.
