*• -***■OBSERVED SIXTY-RFTH WEDDING ANNIVERSARYMr. and Mrs. Denman Hiland Quietly Celebrated Event On Sunday.The sixty-fifth wedding anniver-sary of Mr. and Mrs. Denman Hilandoccurred yesterday at their home near;New Brunswick. The day was observed fjuietlv. at home.Denman Hiland and Mary Kerns were married in Bath county, Kentucky, on February 12, 1857. They came to Boone county in 1863 and have resided on the same farm e\e*«* since that time. They are the parents of ten children, three of whom are deceased. The living are: I.arce Hiland, Samuel Hiland, of near Li'/ton; Mrs. Samuel Scott, of near Advance; Denny Hiland, James Hiland and Mr.*. Roy Northcutt of near the home farm; and Mrs. Marion Burgin, of southeast of Lebanon. 'Hiere are twenty-six grandchildren and forty great grandchildren.Mr. Hiland was born in Bath county, Kentucky, on October 2D, 1836, and is 86 years of age. He is now very frail, having been an invality for live years. He was of a family of nine children. Five are deceased, but four brothers and sisters are living. They are: Mrs. George Vidito, ofKansas; Scott Hiland and Wesley Hiland, of New Brunswick, and Mis. Charles Hedge, of Brownsburg.Mr. Hiland has always been a Republican, having cast his first vote in , 1857. He takes a great interest in | politics, and voted for Harding last fall. He watches the changes of time with interest. Mr. Hiland was brought to Lebanon about five years ago to seo the new court house, but because of his failing sight he could scarcely see it.Mrs. Hiland was born in Bath county, Kentucky on December 21, 1840 and is eighty- two years of-age. .She is in unusually good health for a person of her age. She east her first vote last fall. Mr. and Mrs. Hiland are both always at home because of the condition of Mr. HHand’s health.
