Couple wed 56 yearsMr and Mrs Harold McLaughlin, 512 N. 19th St., were honored Feb. Bat a party celebrating their 56th wedding anniversaryThe event was held at Barney's Bar in Gladstone, owned by their son, DonMr. and Mrs. McLaughlin were married Feb 7, 1920 at All Saints Church in Gladstone Rev. Owen J. Bennett officiated at that ceremony and honor attendants were the late Mr and Mrs. Axel AndersonThe McLaughlins have six children, Mrs. Francis (Arlene) DeGrand of Escanaba, Mrs Gerald (Mary) Swille of Danforth, Mrs William (Therese) Miron of St Clair Shores, Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Roberts of Newport, Tenn , Harold of Escanaba and Don of Gladstone They also have 24 grandchildren and three great grandchildren All of their children, except Mrs. Miron, were ableto lie present for the anniversary celebration.Mr McLaughlin worked for the Chicago and North Western Railroad and then at Delta Hardware for 20 years He retired in 1963.
