Open House Today Will Honor KisersMR. AND MRS. CHESTER E. KISERMr. and Mrs. Chester Enoch Kiser will be honored at a reception today in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. Theaffair, hosted by theirchildren and their families, will be held in their home on the Merrick Road, Sand Springs. Friends are invited to call between the hours of 2 and 5 p.m.CHILDRENThe children and their spouses are Mr. and Mrs. Floyd C. Kiser, Odessa; Mr. and Mrs. Ross M. Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. Allen and Mr and Mrs.Larry Pherigo, all of Coahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Fred E. Kiser, Omaha, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Kiser, Sand Springs; Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie F. Anderson, Vincent; and Mr. and Mrs. Mort Schweitzer, Pasadena, Tex. One daughter is deceased. There are 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The granddaughters willalternate at the guest registry.Mr. and Mrs. Kiser were married Feb. 14, 1923 at the courthouse in Sweetwater. She is the former Iva Hale, born Feb. 15, 1903 inGrayson County. Mr. Kiser was born Feb. 19, 1903 in Oklahoma. (It was still Indian territory at that time.)TRAVELSMr. and Mrs. Kiser made their first home at Eskota where he farmed for a year •before going to work for Texas and Pacific Railway. The Kiser family lived in numerous places during the more than 30 years he remained with the TP before retiring Aug. 8, 1944. The Kisers lived in HotSprings, N.M. for the next two years then, in 1946, returned to Big Spring where he was chief deputy sheriff for Howard County for seven years.Joining a construction company, Procon Inc., Mr. Kiser was a general foreman, and the firm built refineries in several Texas cities and in Ohio. Leaving that job in 1956, he operated a service station in Pasadena, Texas before returning to Sand Springs. Mr. Kiser has been a Church of Christ minister for 27 years, at differenttimes serving churches inSand Springs, Loraine and Groom, and he has been a church elder for a numberof years. Mrs. Kiser is also a member of the Church of Christ.HOBBIESMr. Kiser said he enjoys “a few hobbies”, two of which are carpentry and fishing, while Mrs. Kiser likes to sew and crochet.For the open house, Mrs. Kiser will wear a pale pink patterned dress and will be presented an orchid corsage. Her husband will receive a gold boutonniere.Refreshments will be served from a table covered with a white crepe cloth accented with gold satin wedding bells. The tieredcake will feature gold satinhearts on the top, and the centerpiece will be a gold compote arranged with gold spider mums, greenery and small white satin hearts with streamers.(Curley’s Studio)
