Ah'vil it looks endless —past, it is b it a sp in. On Feb. 9, 1865, Mr. Thomas C. Foust and Miss Mary Robbins were htppilv -married at the home of t le hr id 's father, Mr. Ahi Robbins, four miles south of Old Trinity College, Randolph county, on a bleak, cold dav —the earth covered with an aw. Mr. Robbins was n man of substance, influential, honored and honorable. The date, ’65, carries the mind hack to turbulent d»ys-the civil war raged th *n. Dress goods were chiefly home-mad *, for little else could be had. so Mrs. Mrs. Foust was married in a homemade dress. They started for Alamance on their wedding day, but next day they reached tneir desti-got only to Trinity, that night. The next day they retched their home a little less thin two miles South of Graham, and there they have lived happily all these years, und reared a family of four sons and four daughters, who are an honor and Joy to them in their oldesday, the anniversary day, was a bright, beautiful day. Mr. Foust, now In his 8lr.l ye ir ana Mrs. Foust, In her 77th, are both hale and active. They mingled freely with their guests an 1 entered into the spirit of the occasion. Friends, relatives and neighbors from the country around, and from Graham and Burlington, called from 2 to 6 In the afternoon to pay respects und tender congratulations. A cup of cofice and a light luncheon were served the callers. \j A gollt;F*jneadcd can? for the father and a gold handled umbrella for the mother, were the presents from the children and grandchildren. A number of oth**r, handsome, valuable and appropriate gifts came from friend*.The children were Dr. J. I. Foust, President of the State N. I. College Greensboro; Prof. T. K Foust, lege, Greensboro; Prof. J. I. Foust, Supt. of Education for Guilford county; Prof. Frank L. Fous*, Principal of Pleasant Garden School; Mr. James A. Foust, who lives on an adjoining farm; Mrs. A. L. Henley of Greensboro, and Miss Mary Foust, who lives at home. Mrs. W. L. Smith of Elon College was sink and Mrs. L. L. White of Winston-H.ilem were unable to attend. A number of 4he grand-children wcr?R-esent with tneir parents. Key. r.
