Mr., Mrs. Blackston Feted By Marion Grange Members50 years of marriage —In honor of the 50th weddingi celebrated anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Char j Mr. and M les E, Blackston. Marion Grange members arranged a potluck din ner at the D of A hall last Thursday evening. Sixty members! and guests attended The table for Mr. and Mrs. Blackston and their family was decorated with yellow candelabra and gold place mats.George Wolfe, master, opened!Ed Pierson, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Derr, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mohler and Mr. and Mrs.rsBlackston.Music was furnished by the Mar-Granges, Lawrence Kessler md George and Glcnford Wolfe The Grange sang My Wild Irish Mrs Blaekston's favorite song, and “When You and I Were Young Maggie,” favorite song of Mr. Blackston, was sung by Mrs George W'olfe and Charles Mohler The ten commandments of the Grange were given by Miss Mar garet Kush and Walter Derr.ionRose,Grange and then presented Mrs George Wolfe and Mrs, John Bownes who were in charge of the programAfter group singing of “God Bless America,” the story of Mr and Mrs. Blaekston's life was told by Mrs. Wolfe during which she introduced Mr. Blaekston's sister Mrs. Clara Phelps, his brothers and sisters-in law Mr. and Mrs. Homer Blackston and Mr. and Mrs. John Blackston and two other brothers Dan and Ray Blackston. Their daughters Mrs Alva Cordell and Mrs. Harry Mount and grand daughter Miss Lucy Cordell were then introduced The gold-bound “This Is Your Life bf*»k, com posed by Mrs. Wolfe, was presented to the guests of honor.Karl Hartmann offered as a piano solo “Waltz of the Flowers ! which he dedicated to the four couples in the Grange who haveMr and Mrs. Blackston received a gold blanket from the Grange The Grange also presented a blan ket to the past master of thlt; Grange, Walter Derr and his wifeThe lecturer announced a valen tine box for the next meeting.Girl Scout ActivitiesValentine gifts for their mothers were made at the meeting ol Brownie Troop 7 Monday aftei school at the Girl Scout rooms.Cinda Cannon and Louise Bes ter had the nibble box.
