Speaking of the petrified bodies unearthed recently in the old Methodist 1 cemetery for removal to the beautiful grounds conseerrated by the I. O. O. F., an old sexton says on the subject: Ihave seen many petrified bodies. It is njy opinion that there are whole grave yards of stone corpses. The, change of flesh to stone requires from two to six years, and is caused by snl-pher'water which fills the coffin. As long as the coffin is full, the body keeps all right, but if it goes down it takes with it all the poisons and im-impurities of the body and leaves just the solid substance which is easilytransformed to stone.
