Pioneer Hunt-co Couple Celebrates 70th AnniversaryMr. andMrs.McBrHe Fonored Sunday by Dinner, Reception.Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McBride, 3510College-st, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Sunday whenthey were honored with a dinnerand reception In the home of Mrand Mrs. J. M Massey, 4301 Wes-ley-st. Mrs. Massey is a daughter of the couple.Relatives and friends from this section of the state gathered tocongratulate the fortunate coupleon this occasion and the family enjoyed an anniversary dinner at the noon hour. The table was laid in linen and centered with a bouquet of white pom-pom chrysanthemums. A pink arid white cake bore the inscription “Seventy Years’* Cut flowers and pot plants were used throughout the entertaining rooms.Mr and Mrs. McBride were mar. ried Feb. 1, 18f6 at. Lone Oak in a log cabin when only one cabin and the lone oak tree marked the site where the town is now located Mr. McBride had just returned from the Civil War. and the ceremony wa.s jwrformed by the Rev. Raleigh The bride of 70 years recalls that she wore a wedding gown of white lawn with a hooped skirt of yards and yards of rufiles, and it featured the dropped shouldersand tight bodice.
