Allen Burtons Wed 60 YearsMr. and Mrs. Allen Burton, members of Richton Park Church of the Nazarene for more than 40 years, were honored on the occasion of their recent 60th wedding anniversary at a morning worship service dedicated to them by their present pastor, the Rev. Lewis Hansen.The couple received congratulations from the former pastor, the Rev. Ralph Rice of ‘Kankakee, who served thechurch 36 years ago, along with good wishes from many friends and members of the church.Dinner was served afterward to all in attendance, and a special anniversary cake was baked for the event by Mrs. Cecil Dodrill of Richton Park, one of the church's Sunday school members.Special music was furnished by the couple's granddaughter, Mrs. William Bowie, and theirgreat-granddaughter. Miss Beth Bowie, of Lowell, Ind.Mr. and Mrs. Burton havebeen Chicago Heights residents for more than 50 years. They are the parents of four children, including Ray Burton of Austintown, Ohio; Elmer Burton of Lexington, Ky.; Mrs. Maureen Mingledorf of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Francis Farrar of Park Forest, who wrote the life story of her parents which was presented in capsule form during the recent church celebration.The Burtons also have eight grandchildren and nine greats grandchildren.
