The new officers of the W. Rlt; C. will be installed at their meeting next Saturday afternoon at the Legion room in the armory.The regular meeting of the W. ft. C. will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock when installation of the new officers will be the order of the day.McCnen AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. W. N, McCuen of Jefferson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the Woman’s club house in Jefferson on Sunday, December 22. The tables were beautifully decorated in gold colors, with large bouquets of gold-colored pompoms for the centerpieces on each table and gold' candles and holders. At the bride and groom’s place was a large wedding cake with gold colored decorations.Sixty-eight relatives and friends were present for the picnic dinner which was served at one o’clock. After the dinner there was a short musical program and an address by Kev. W. J. Fowler.Mr. and Mrs. McCuen received many lovely gifts appropriate to the occasion. They were married fifty years ago the 120th of December at Cleveland, Nebr. | They are the parents of four children.I Mrs. Ethel Smith, who passed away •in 1922; Norman McCuen of Des tMoines; Wallace McCuen and C. L. 4 McCuen of Jefferson. They have nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.Mr. McCuen was bora and raised in the Pleasant Hill community but while a young man he moved to Nebraska where he made the acquaintance of the girl who was to become hiswife. She was reared in an eastern state. They moved back to Greene county about 39 years ago and have lived here ever since except for a period of a few years spent in Wichita,Kansas.Mr. McCuen is 75 years of age while his wife is 73 and both are in good health. The longevity of the member* of the family is evidenced in the persons of A. W. McCuen, a brother living southeast of Jefferson, and Mac and Ad Wilson, half-brothers.
