The occasion was hosted by their children.Jack McBroom and the former Mabel Tucek were married Jan. 11,1927 in Dawn. TTiey first lived in Hereford but have lived in Happy about the last 20 years and now reside at 111 NorthPlains in Happy.Children of the couple are Orin McBroom of Friona and I^azbud-die, Everette McBroom of Friona, Billy McBroom of Happy, AlvinMcBroom of Amarillo, Sgt. Major Martha McBroom of Copperas Cove, Dorothy Howell of Brcckenridge, all in attendance with their families.Three children unable to be present on Sunday were Jimmy McBroom of Seaside, Calif.; Jack McBroom of Kennedale (near Fort Worth), and Delbert McBroom.Granddaughters, Kathy Johnson of Amarillo, Irene Howell of Amarillo, Janie Braddock of Nazareth, Donna McBroom of Friona, and Susan Renner of Friona, served and registered guests during the afternoon.The main serving table was covered with a lace cloth over a golden underclotiv and centeredwith yellow roses. A five tiered white anniversary cake trimmed in gold roses and leaves and topped with a *50’ and wedding bells was served with golden punch, mints and mixed nuts from a crystal service.A smaller serving table was covered with a lace cloth over brown and centered with a silver miniature candlebra. Coffee was served from silver service.Another table displayed gifts given by close friends and family members. One which caught my eye was A white china plate on which had been reproduced an oval picture of the honored couple, taken on their wedding day and the date, Jan. 11, 1927.Other out of town guests present were JadTs brothers, Boots Marva Terry of Fort Worth, and stuand Mary McBroom.
