E. B. Larmon's Observe Sixtieth AnniversaryMr. and Mrs* E, B, Lar,man of Oxford observed' their sixtieth wedding anniversary Sunday, Dec. 11, when fourteen members of the immediate family were present at a dinner solved in their honor. The dinner had been postponed from December 8 because pressing matters prevented several of the children from being present on 'the 8th..A three-tier cake, baked and beautifully decorated by Mrs. Ed Quinn, served as the cent expiece. The nun crals “BG'1 in silver were on‘top of the cake, which was a gift from the Baptist Ladies Aid of which Mrs. Larmon Is a member.Mrs. Darmen wore the corsage she used at their 50th wedding anniversary, The rosebuds and gold riibibon were in perfect condition.Present 'besides the honored guests wore ,Mr. and Mrs. Neil E. Larmon and children, LRetta, Rita, Edwin and Mary Ann of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. John Hessl-er of Denver, Colorado; Mr, and Mrs. Holland Larmon and son Harold of MoCook, Nabr.; (Mx's. Harold Larmon and tw,o children' were visiting her parents at San Diego, Calif., and were unable to be present), and Mrs. Hattie Heaton of Des Moines, Iowa.Later, Mr. and Mrs, R. G. Hensley and Mr. and Mrs. McCann of Cheyenne-Wells, Colo., joined the group.Lunch was served cafeteria style to the eighteen.Pinochle served as the pastime and -there was much merry, making at the three tables both afternoon and •evening.A poinsetta plant from the Eastern ;Star Lodge, bouquet of ohrysanthe-mums from the P. E. O., roses from Charles Dillman added their beauty to the room. A telegram was received from Mrs. Larmon’s nephew, Lowell Ebersole and family at Santa Barbara, Calif., who were unable to be present, and there were many congratulatory cards.Mr. and Mrs. Larmon were married at Boone, Jowa, December 8, 1889, Mr, Larmon was 24 and Mrs. Larmon 22 years of age. They resided at Manson, Iowa, until 1-894 when Mr. Larmon purchased the Pomeroy Herald at pom-eroy, Iowa, which he operated until 1904. They then moved to Rugiby, Colorado, in 1904 where Mr. Larmon had employment in the coal mines. In 1-907 they came to Ne-. braska, locating at Holdrege , where lie was plant foreman of the Hol-drego Citizen untii 1910 when he .pui’-chased the Oxford Standard and operated it until his retirement in 1943.The Larmons have many friends who extend congratulations. — The Oxford (Nebr.)
