It.f(the linsteao court.(From our Coriespondent).Llnstead, December 27.—There was a short sitting of the Resident Magistrate’s Court here on Wednesday last. His Honour Mr. J. V. Leach presided, and the prosecution for the Crown was conducted bv Mr. John Verity, Deputy Clerk of the , t ourts. The following cases were among | .those disposed of:— 1I riah Townsend, a little boy of about ten years of age, was indicted on a charge of larceny of moneys amounting to 1*1 9s. The youthful offender who hails from tlie parish of Clarendon, stole the amount from a man in the district of Klversdale and was spending freely when he was caught and arrested.He was sentenced to receive six strokes of the tamarind switch.lt;lt; ii Stewart pleaded guilty to a charge hi being in unlawful possession of a quantity of yams; he had a record of fourteen previous convictions, and the sentence of the court was six months' Imprisonment hard labour, and one year’s police supervision.Theophilus Brooks. Henry Plunkett and Alexander Kurd were charged with the , larnnv of a three quarter bag of coffee!' valued at £9, the property of Robert March. Mr. H. W. W. Dayes represented Brooks, while the other two appeared ontheir own behalf. The evidence for the prosecution went to show that the accused.
