Frick, trading aa Baldwin A Frick, the well-known Insurance and real estate broker*, Of this city, were sued for $100,000 damages In the Superior Court yesterday by Rennoua, Kleinle A Co., the large bruab-mann-facturlng company of tbit city, the claim being for losses sustained on insurance policies which were placed by Baldwin A Frick. The Insurance was on property of the company destroyed In the great Are In February. 1904.The declaration In the suit contains a Hat of 51 Insurance companies which Issued policies on the property. The total Insurance was $144,000. It is said that the loss of the company by the fir* was $141,000, but $70,000 of the Insurance was found to be uncollectible.It is alleged In the declaration, which was filed by Crain A Herehey, attorneys, that Baldwin A Frick solicited employment as Are insurance brokers and experts In that line, and aa such were employed by Rennoua, Kleinle A Co. to place large lines of fire Insurance and to keep them covered by policies In good and substantial companies. It was the duty of Baldwin A Frick, It Is claimed, to use reasonable care and precaution In placing the Insurance. Instead of doing their duty properly, Baldwin A Frick. It la claimed, placed a large part of the insurance In companies thatwere Insolvent and notoriously worthless, In consequence of which Rennous, Kleinle A Co. suffered great loss.The list of Insurance companies in the declaration shows also the premiums paid to Baldwin A Frick, the amount of the Insurance and the amonnt due as fixed by the genera) loss committee. Soper were yesterday appointed by consent receivers of the Cushing Company, of Baltimore, and Its business successor, the Kelly-Benson Company, of Baltimore, tbelr bond being for $15,000.The bill of complaint against both companies was filed In Circuit Court No. 2 by Henry D. Mentzel, trading as Henry D. Mentzel A Co. and Edward C. Wollman. It states that the two corporations owe Mr. Mentzel 576.50 on open account and Mr. Wollman $2,250.39 on demand notes.The Cushing Company was Incorporated February 27, 1903. and the Kelly Benson Company, on July 10 last. The companies conducted fha printing, publishing and stationery business and dealt in office and school furniture and supplies.As now conducted by the Kellv-Benson Company. Louis Me Lane, the well-known financier, who died December 13, wae admitted to probate in the Orphans’ Court yesterday, letters being granted to hie eon, Mr. Charles E. Me Lane, and the Mercantile Trust anlt;^ Deposit Company, who were named as executors. The trust company bonded for $600,000, double the estimated value of Mr. MeLane'a personal property. A nominal bond was given by Mr. MeLane’a son, who was named aa executor without .bond.The will, Which baa seven codicils annexed. gives all Mr. McLane’s property to bla widow and children. Mra Sophie L. McLane, the widow, la bequeathed her husband’s residence on North Charlea street, with the ground, stable and contents, and all other property of hie of every kind end wherever situated, to be enjoyed by her during her life.Upon the death of Mrs. McLane the entire estate ie to be divided equally among Mr. MeLane’a children, from whose respective shares are to be deducted certain glfta made to them by him In his lifetime by way of advancements on their share*. The object of this la to make the shares absolutely equal.The shares of Mr. McLane’* daughter* and bis aon Louis are to be held in trust for them and their children by his *on, Charles E. McLane, and the Mercantile Trust and Deposit Company. In consequence of her advancing years, Mra. McLane did not feel able to undertake the business of the administration of the estate, and with her concurrence the Orphans’ Court directed the Issue of letters to Mr. Charles E.
