MR. AND MRS. L. O. MILI.EROPEN HOUSEMARKS 50thANNIVERSARYI Despite the icy roads and slippery walks Saturday evening approximately 65 guests arrived at jthe Lovett O. Miller’s open house to offer their congratulations on the couple’s golden j wedding anniversary.1 Many phone calls were received' from friends who were unable to cope with the weather, but wished to express their ;best wishes.Lovell Miller and AlwildaI Smith were married December --21, 1911, in Detroit, Mich., and moved to Harvey in 1913. Mr. Miller is a retired employee of Bliss and Laughlin where hespent 28 years.Their son Edwin, w i t h his wife, and son Douglas, came from Detroit for the festivities. Mrs. Edwin Miller had made the decorations including a festive gold-trimmed tablecloth, and had baked the anniversary cake.Another son, Carl, who lives in Rhode Island, was unable to attend as there was illness in his family.The Millers have four grandchildren.
