AT PORT BYRONGolden Weeding Anniversary Dinner, Open House Is Held Christmas.Port Byron—Gold wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Benson, Port Byron, was observed at a family dinner and open bouseChristmas day. Many relatives and friends called to extend congratulations. A wedding cake, decorated in gold, served as a centerpiece. Poinsettlas and yellow chrysanthemums were used about the rooms.Mrs. Bensob before her marriage was Nettie Lillian Smith. She and Mr. Benson were married at the home of her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs* Maniel Smith, of Hampton Dec. 22, 1892. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Adams.Six children of the couple, present for the anniversary event, are Mrs. V^rnet Senthouse of Port Byron, Samuel W. Benson and Maurice Benson of Cordova, Lillian Benson of Molinfe, Mrs. Henry D. Kuehl of Davenport and Harold Benson ofChicago. The couple’s first son. Merle, died in infancy.Six grandchildren of the couple are Mrs. Duane Meyers of Moline, the former Verda Senthouse; Billy, son of Samuel Benson, Robert and Ruth, son and daughter of Maurice Benson; Judy Kuehl of Davenport and Susan Benson of Chicago,
