HAPPY NEW YEARWe will write it ‘ 1935” and in doing so wehave every reason as citizen of this last great west and citizens of this fair dominion to look with pride upon the way our country has weathered the greatest depression of modern times.^Four years ago Canada had an adverse trade balance of $100,000,000 ; today we have a favorabletrade balance of $200,000,000., with the Canadiandol ar at a premium, every bank and insurance company in Canada paying one hundred cents on the dollar.Trade is better all over Canada than it has been for years.It is almost impossible to limit the excursions of the imagination in estimating the great possibilities that are ours. With our fertile agricultural lands, and our immense mineral discoveries which will soon place us as the leading gold producer in the world, why not say that the stage is set for the greatest theatre of commercial activity ever before witnessed in this country, and in feeling this way why 'should we not say from the bottom of our hearts A HAPPYNEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.W.
