— -Robert B. Myers, 82, a retiredmiller, died from infirmities of age Friday afternoon at 5:15 o’clock at 'the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs, William H. Allison, Arendtsville. He had been in failing health for a year and was bedfast a week. He would have observed his eighty-third birthday anniversary February 7.The deceased was a native of Adams county and was born at Bream's mill, along the Fairfield road, near the old Blackhorse tavern, a son of the late William E. and Hannah (Butt) Myers.He has distinct recollections of the battle of Gettysburg. He often related that his father had con-j traded measles at the time of the battle and when the Confederates took over the mill to be used as a hospital the Myers family moved to live with a brother near York Springs. The mill was occupied aa a hospital by General James Long-street’s corps. Upon the family's return from York Springs following the battle wounded soldiers and evidences of operations were found in the mill.Retired in 1933
